Evening Visit to Severals Grange

July 9, 2025

The evening of the 9th of July saw us visit the garden of Severals Grange, Wood Norton, the creation of Jane Lister and Brenda Hines. As the sun sank a little lower in the sky toweards the close of yet another very hot day we were delighted to enter the calm, cooler atmosphere of this garden, surrounded as it is by tall trees shading the borders towards the edges while the central planted areas still basked in the sun’s warm glow. It really was a magical sight.

The varied growing conditions allow the owners a wide variety of planting options to create a range of interest throughout the seasons, mainly perennial plants and shrubs, interspersed with ornamental grasses ranging from the low-growing fluffy to the elegant giant grasses which bring movement, light and sparkle to the space. We had been advised to bring bags and money with us as there would a chance to buy some of the plants on show and few of us went home empty handed.

A truly delightful evening.
